Halloween day was the best day ever. We had our own personal pet parade around the city. Here is a picture of Cookie taken on the patio at Sam’s Log Cabin, one of our favorite breakfast places. Next stop, Pumpkin Patch!

The bulldogs are anything but sleepless!

We hope everyone had a fun and safe All Hallow’s Eve!

And she’s laying in my hallway waiting for her big debut!  Our sweet lil’ punkin is totally jazzed for Halloween. Here she is modeling her pumpkin outfit from Old Navy dog supply. My favorite feature of this costume is the “little sprout” stem hat. It seems to have been made specifically for the bulldog breed, what with its shallow half dome beanie and elastic strap with ear holes up high. This year, I am excited to take Cookie trick-or-treating door-to-door  in our neighborhood. I know people probably won’t be giving out dog biscuits, but really I just want to show her off.  The trick is getting Cookie to ring the doorbell. The treat is the extreme delight brought to those unsuspecting candy-givers who open their homes to a chubby little white bulldog dressed as an orange, velvety gourd!

I spent a ladies’ weekend in Seattle a couple of weeks ago visiting my mom and sis. I did miss my Cookie, but not to worry. I got my bulldog quota filled by the other family doggies, Lucy and Winston. Above, Winston flashes his precious grin for all to see. Who says this is a face only a mother could love? Not only do I love Winston’s face, but he has such a great attitude: silent, and sweet, yet bold and beautiful. Here is a full shot of him waiting for me to put on my makeup so we can go on a “car-car” ride to the airport. Those are my mom’s fuzzy slippers.

We take Cookie to get her medicated bath every two weeks at Mudpuppy’s Tub & Scrub. Before the scrub down, we always let Cookie roam around Pt. Isabel off leash. Somehow, she always finds the muddiest spot to investigate. Here she is after having her field day in the goopiest, dirtiest, muddiest puddle that she found that day. The smile on her face after these “slimy safaris” is always worth the cleanup, however messy it gets. Below, Cookie enjoys some cool, clear water from her portable “Thirsty Dog” water bottle.

As our wedding photos are trickling in, I am inspired to blog again!  I  must say that Our Girl really stole the show before, during and after the ceremony. She was such a good little flower girl, but looking cute 24/7 makes a lady bulldog tired!  As Cookie naps, minutes before walking down the aisle, our photographer, Corey Knafelz, captures her better half festooned in the traditional wedding garb.

This morning our florist, Lisa Brown of Floralisa, sent me a a link to her blog. Guess what? Cookie is the feature! I hope you enjoy these photos. You should also peruse Lisa’s website. She does beautiful work and we can’t thank her enough!

There are so many great pictures from our honeymoon drive up the coast, but this is one of my favorites. On the last morning of our trip, I stepped back into our room to do a once-over before we checked out of our final hotel. When I returned to the car, this was what I saw. Cookie had finagled her way to the driver’s seat when we weren’t looking. Since she looked ready to hit the road back home from the Pacific Northwest, I put my new knit cap atop her bulldog head for a cute photo-op. I just love it – Cookie channeling her inner Eddie Vedder.

I created this montage of spontaneous snapshots I took of Our Girl the other day when we were running errands. Tim had to run into the store and I stayed with Cookie in the car. She followed her daddy with her eyes until he was out of sight, and then continued to stare longingly from afar. When he returned about 10 minutes later, you should have seen the wiggles ensue!  After all, she is daddy’s little girl!

Lately it has been very gloomy in the Bay Area, but we always have our little ray of sunshine to make us smile.

I always wondered what Cookie would look like wearing “Doggles” and recently we got the chance to find out when she received a care package in the post from her Auntie Mart of Michigan. As you can see, they resemble human sunglasses, except there are three modified straps to keep the lenses in place. Cookie’s head is small and round, so we had to adjust the straps at the smallest settings, but once we got her properly situated, she looked pretty cool! Keep rockin’, Cookie!

Urchin Circus strikes again! My smart and talented friend, Robert, was so kind enough as to custom make this little bulldog in the likeness of my sister’s baby, Lucy. I commissioned him to create this for my bridesmaid gift to her. Needless to say it was a hit, and the resemblance is striking, as you can see. We at Cookie Crumbs are looking forward to seeing what new creations Robert has up his crafty sleeve!
