This is Cookie on “Game Day” last Saturday sporting the jersey of her Poppy’s alma mater, Michigan State. While we were not victorious in this last football game of the season, we were, as usual, victorious in extreme adorable-ness.

We look forward to September 5th, 2009 when Michigan State goes up against Montana State. Go Green! Go White! Go Cookie!

She goes out walkin’ after midnight…

For a while we took to calling Cookie “Patsy Cline” because of her desire to wake us up for a midnight walk. At first I thought, “How smart of Cookie to bark in the middle of the night when she has to potty!” When this happened for the third night in a row, and especially since she ended up NOT pottying, we realized that this was a bad habit that we needed to break. Cookie is very needy. But, I think I was really spoiling her by coddling and cooing to her whenever she would wake up at night. To eliminate any distractions should she awake in the night, we have started closing our bedroom door (Cookie sleeps in our room) and turning off the night light in the bathroom. Also, we have extended our night time family walks to a vigorous 20 minute trot. Guess what? All of these tactics have worked and our baby has been snoozing peacefully throughout the night.img_0409

Sweet dreams Cookie! We love you!

Saturday is spa day

Last Saturday we took Cookie to get her fortnightly bath at Mudpuppy’s Tub and Scrub. She just loves it. She willingly climbs the four steps up to the bathtub and settles right in. The picture above is Cookie waiting for her daddy to arrive before she gets into the tubby. He had stepped out to grab some coffee before the sudsing ensued. Cookie is such a Daddy’s Girl, she often will not budge for walks until she knows Tim is in tow.

She’s got spurs that jingle-jangle-jingle!

We are in the throes of spring cleaning. Even Cookie is helping out. She helped me sort out her toy box and her closet. When I found her tiny sheriff’s hat she got all excited and let me put it right on her. Like the true princess that she is, she loves dressing up. Whenever I put her in clothes, she just gets all fired up and prances around for everyone to admire her. She sat with her hat on looking out the window for awhile and then, as you can see here, she decided to take a siesta. The best was when Tim called her to him, and she came walking into the party like she was walking onto a yacht (or dude ranch). What a surprise for Tim to see the littlest cowgirl turning the corner.

When Cookie isn’t combing the prairies looking for doggies, she likes the adventures of snowboarding in the Sierras. Actually, her little pink snowboard coat from Old Navy Dog Supply (pictured above), works fantastically as a rain slicker, which came in handy with the recent downpours. Cookie sure looks pretty in pink.

Ruff and Moo

doggiedelosmuertos Well, the bulldogs did it up this Halloween! See Lucy at left. She sports an Old Navy skeleton tee like Cookie! It was also her birthday and so she enjoyed a special meal of beef stew flavored wet food. Doesn’t she look happy?of505904421 And of course, dear WInston, who dressed up as a darling Holstein cowie. It’s a very good costume for him as his facial markings do blend in. Got treats? Hopefully one day Cookie will get to meet her Washington cousins. Methinks a West Coast bulldog-bash is in order!

Boo!

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. Cookie was very excited about the festivities. She put on her costume (as you can see, she is a skeleton dog) and we paraded around the neighborhood. We got lots of attention, but the best was when all the children came to the door. Cookie loves kids and would toodle on up to the door and give everyone a smile and a tail shake. The neighbor dog even shared his biscuits with her. In the pictures above, you can see that Cookie’s glow-in-the-dark t-shirt is skin tight. And midriff baring. But, Cookie told me that she is very confident in her Halloween duds because she is a “proud grown lady bulldog with a real lady bulldog’s body.” My feelings exactly. What a treat you are, Cookie!
